Sydney, AUS, Wednesday 20 August 2014 - Winners of the 2014 Australian Mobile & App Design Awards were announced this evening.  Over 30 category awards were announced including the coveted App Design Champion – Chairman’s Award awarded to Telstra for the 2nd year running.  The awards provide a unique opportunity for all sectors of the industry and marketplace to engage and extend the design conversation and to celebrate the courage of both commissioners and creators.

The Awards were announced by design100 and App Design Awards Founder and CEO Mark Bergin.  The Australian Mobile & App design Awards are supported by key collaboration partners and advisory panel members including Kirsten Mann - Acconex, Zoe Warne – August and Glen Barry– Genius Group and collaborative partners, Sydney Design Festival, AIMIA, Startup Victoria Barr, Mobile Monday and TRUSTe.

Sydney, AUS, Wednesday 20 August 2014 - Winners of the 2014 Australian Mobile & App Design Awards were announced this evening.  Over 30 category awards were announced including the coveted App Design Champion – Chairman’s Award awarded to Telstra for the 2nd year running.  The awards provide a unique opportunity for all sectors of the industry and marketplace to engage and extend the design conversation and to celebrate the courage of both commissioners and creators.

The Awards were announced by design100 and App Design Awards Founder and CEO Mark Bergin.  The Australian Mobile & App design Awards are supported by key collaboration partners and advisory panel members including Kirsten Mann - Acconex, Zoe Warne – August and Glen Barry– Genius Group and collaborative partners, Sydney Design Festival, AIMIA, Startup Victoria Barr, Mobile Monday and TRUSTe.

"There has been an extraordinary array of talent and innovative projects showcasing the depth and strength of app design in the Australian marketplace" said Mark Bergin. "This year the app moved beyond smartphones to web apps, console apps and platform apps. The era of the app only being on Apple devices is past, long live the app."

Other award winners included the Best Studio – less than 5 – The PE Geek, 5-20 mobiDdiction and 20+ for the second successive year - Outware.  Category winners based on ratings from the marketplace, industry and panel include:  Best App or Startup – Hello Local, Best New Service - Yates My Garden App by Webling, Line of Business – MYOB Pay Direct, Medical – The Alfred ICU Waiting Room App, Financial Information & Tools – Coles Mobile Wallet by Outware, Sport – Kia ‘Game on’ by Mnet Mobile, Government Services – Australian JobSearch by Reading Room and Weather – Bureau of Meteorology Mobile Website. The Australian Mobile & App Design Awards are part of a global Grand Slam series including participants from UK, U.S., Asia and the UK, which recognises innovation and design within the mobile and app ecosystem.
